Using the App
Once you have the app installed and running, you'll need a user account to test with.
Testing Environment Email Requirements
In testing environments, your email address must follow a specific format:
email+<anything>@zuno.techFor example:
| Requirement | Reason |
|---|---|
Must start with email+ | Required for Intercom registration |
Must end with @zuno.tech | Avoids "Intercom jail" (real zuno emails ending up in spam folders in production due to intercom refusing to allow us to disable emails) |
WARNING
If you don't follow this format, your test user won't be properly registered with Intercom and may cause issues / put us in intercom jail again.
Creating a New User
You can create a fresh engineer account by going through the sign-up flow within the app.
You will need to verify the email of your created engineer in order to access the app - you can find your email in mailtrap.
After Sign-Up
Creating the account is just the first step. Before the engineer can receive jobs, you'll need to:
- Approve the engineer in Admin - The application must be reviewed and approved
- Set up availability - The engineer needs availability slots configured
- Ensure valid documents - Required documents and qualifications must be uploaded and approved
- Submit product applications - For the job types they want to receive (see Product Applications)
Stealing a User in Admin
- Find a job that has an engineer attached to it.
- Go on that engineer and ensure that all their documents / qualifications load in admin without the broken image icon (including their company docs) -> you can just upload any image to replace the broken ones
- Login with their email and the default password

TIP
If you encounter issues in the app after stealing a user, see Spotting a Broken User in the FAQs.
